Saturday Morning Breakfast: German Pancake {Recipe}

I love making a good breakfast on the weekends. German Pancakes are one of my favorite and they are ridiculously easy to make. I grew up with this recipe and I can never seem to mess it up. I usually make these when we have guests in town, because they look pretty dang impressive. Am I right?


German Pancake Recipe


  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup white flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 TBS. Butter


  • Pre-heat oven to 450° F
  • Beat together the eggs, milk, flour, & salt until smooth.


  • Melt butter in skillet. You can use a pyrex pie pan if you don’t have a skillet that’s safe to go in the oven. 


  • Add batter to skillet and bake for 15 minutes, then lower temperature to 350° F and continue baking for another 10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with powder sugar and syrup. A squirt of lemon is also recommended 🙂
