Everything’s Better in Gold

So I am currently obsessed with gold if you couldn’t tell from some of my posts..gold owls, gold heart pillows, gold sharpie nails .. But really this isn’t a new thing for me, when I got married over 5 years ago, guess what my colors were? GOLD, pink and orange….ahead of the times, I guess.

Oh I just love looking back on these 🙂

So I decided to give these little leaf plates a simple gold makeover. A can of spray paint can make a big difference. You could probably spray paint any little nick-knack and bring it up to the times {or white… oooh another craft to blog about…}

Find a good place with lots of air ventilation {outside or a garage are good options}. Lay out your cardboard or newspaper to create a work space. Wash and dry the item you are spray painting. Follow directions on the spray can, spray lightly and evenly across the surface.

These plates were somewhat difficult because they have the ridges in them…it made the paint pool up. I also left them outside under a small covered area and I forgot about them. It started to rain and when I remembered them they were completely filled with water….so yeah.

I have an idea for these leaf plates..stay tuned to see what I use them for!
