Copper Plant Pots {DIY}

Everyone knows I love me some gold…but lately I’ve been really drawn to copper. It’s almost the new gold {almost}. So today I’m sharing a super easy DIY tutorial on these little copper pots!

A few months ago I was at my parents’ house and they had a huge Goodwill giveaway pile for me to go through. I found this copper recipe box among the rubble and had to have it. It’s one of those things that I distinctly remember from my childhood, it held all my mom’s trusty recipes. Although slightly beat up, I couldn’t have it just go to some random person. So here it sits in our kitchen.

I didn’t have any other copper decor at the time so I decided to make some of my own. I was inspired by this project I found on Homey Oh My but instead of herbs I went with succulents. I love succulents! Plus I found them at Ikea along with these cheap pots.

  1. In a well ventilated area {like outside, or somewhere where you can open windows} lightly spray the pots with the metallic spray paint moving evenly around the entire pot. I used about 3 coats and let them dry in between to prevent the paint from dripping.
  2. Allow pots to fully dry
  3. Place plant in pot and add soil to fill in pot as needed
  4. Find a place to display them 🙂
