Claire Update {4 years}

My little Claire Bear is FOUR!! Claire is so fun and creative, she absolutely LOVES to draw, color, do craft projects, bake, etc. We have a lot of interests in common 🙂 I started an Instagram account for her so I could document all of her drawings {and so I wouldn’t feel so terrible for not saving every single one}. She is also very into princesses, dresses, crowns, headbands, and anything to do to with hair. Her latest obsession is watching hair braiding videos and making me try them on her. I’ve never been very good at braiding, but boy, am I going be an expert soon with all the practice I’m getting in!

I’m really looking forward to this year, I’ve heard 4 is much better than 3. The 3’s really were as bad as they say. HA. But now there are days I’m seeing glimpses of my sweet girl and I think, wow, 4 really is great and….. then there are days I wonder who has possessed her! Not sure that will ever end with this strong-willed, smart little child 🙂

Claire took Ballet this summer and really enjoyed it…despite not participating the first 20 minutes of class every week, she always raved about how much she loved it. She’s now in soccer and is following her usual warm up time of 10-20 minutes of hanging on Mom or Dad’s leg before running in and joining the team. This is definitely her personality, she needs her time to warm up to things and encouragement from Mom and Dad usually only prolongs that. LOL.

For her birthday this year she wanted a My Little Pony party. Colin got really crafty and made a homemade Rainbow Dash Pinata! {Who’s for Colin making a tutorial video on that?!?!} 🙂 It took him about 3 weeks. Him & Claire would go out into the garage and work on it little by little most nights. It was really fun watching them complete this project together. During the party Colin ultimately decided he didn’t want to see his 3 weeks of hard work smashed to pieces in a few minutes. So we didn’t actually do the pinata, we just passed around the bag of candy instead. None of the kids seemed to mind…it’s all about the candy anyway!

Not bad!! {Please excuse our messy garage}

The kids decorated treasure boxes at the party. This was our plan B, because originally her birthday was supposed to be the nicest day of that week (high of 86!) so we had an outdoor, pool/slip n slide party planned, but instead it rained. Non-stop rain. The boxes were a hit though and everyone had a great time!

Claire and her friends! Sophia, Emma, Claire, Brie

Claire has been a great big sister to Audrey. She has enjoyed seeing Audrey grow up and do new things and is always a great encourager {unless of course Audrey’s crawling over to her toys or trying to eat her snacks!}. Looking forward to another year of growing and blossoming for my sweet child 🙂
